The Process
If you’re visiting us for a checkup and clean, welcome! First, we’ll have you fill out new patient paperwork if you haven’t already done so. If you’re already a patient with us, we may ask if anything has changed since your last visit and discuss any complaints or issues you may be experiencing orally. We’ll also take a look inside your mouth to examine the gums, tongue and look for any issues that may be present.
Next, we’ll take a couple of x-rays on each side of your mouth. We’re proud to use advanced digital x-rays so that we can show you right away what’s going on. If we notice any cavities, we’ll point them out to you and develop a care plan for treatment. If any other issues arise from your x-rays, we’ll dive deep to uncover the best care plan and let you know what we recommend.
After the x-rays, we’ll move on to cleaning your teeth, which entails removing any built-up plaque or debris and doing a flouride treatment.
After we’re done, we’ll have you book your next cleaning and checkup, as well as any other appointments that were recommended if you’re ready. We can also discuss any financial details so there are no surprises, as well as go over payment plans available for additional care.
FAQ
How long does a cleaning last?
A typical checkup and clean appointment lasts roughly 45 minutes to one hour. We ask that you reserve this amount of time for the appointment and arrive to your visit on time. If you need to reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 48 hours in advance by simply giving our practice a call.
If I need a cavity filled, can I do it at this time?
If we find a cavity in a tooth that can be filled in the allotted time we have, we can do so during the same visit. If the cavity is complex, we may invite you to book an appointment and return to have it filled at a later date. If you’re in pain, we’ll do our best to accommodate you ASAP.
