Veneers

Veneer illustrationIf you’ve ever wanted to achieve a straighter, aesthetically pleasing smile without the need for braces or additional dental treatments, veneers may be an option for you.

At our practice, our team has years of experience helping patients just like yourself craft custom veneers designed to match the look and function of your natural teeth.

All About Veneers

Veneers are designed to fit on top of your natural teeth and are made of strong porcelain, which allows them to maintain strength and integrity so that you can chew and speak as normal.

Imagine veneers as a “fake nail” for your tooth—one that can correct chipped teeth, slightly misaligned teeth, discoloured teeth, and more.

Typically speaking, veneers are usually a top choice for patients who want to correct the appearance of teeth toward the front of their smile. If you’re considering veneers, we recommend doing 4-6 teeth so that everything matches perfectly. It’s important to remember that veneers will permanently change your natural teeth, since we are required to slightly ‘shave’ down your natural tooth to place the veneer so it fits on top of it. Once your tooth is shaved, there’s no going back to how it was before, and veneers become a lifelong solution.

When you visit us for your first appointment, we’ll begin by examining your teeth to see if you’re a candidate. If so, we can generate a computer image to show you what your final results will look like.

We’ll then craft your custom fit veneers with the help of a laboratory who specializes in achieving stunning results.

Once we receive your veneers in the coming weeks, we’ll invite you back to have them placed and cemented onto your teeth. Before we permanently place them, we’ll give you the chance to see how they look so that any final changes can be made, be it shape, size or colour matching.

If you’re ready for them to be placed, we’ll cement them. From this point on, you’ll be enjoying your new, improved smile!

Do veneers hurt?

No, veneers do not hurt. During the placement process and shaving process, we can numb your teeth and mouth so that you don’t feel any pain or pressure. We’ll make sure you’re entirely comfortable.
Can you whiten veneers?

Unfortunately, the colour of veneers can only be changed if they are replaced. We suggest whitening your natural teeth before having veneers, so that you can obtain the brightest smile now that your new veneers will match.
How do I know if I am a candidate?

During your appointment, we’ll examine your mouth and discuss the best options for you. Sometimes, a crown or implant, or even orthodontic work, may be more ideal. We’ll always let you know what’s in your best interest.
